MADRID — A local couple is again raising money for the Madrid-Waddington Central High School music department through a raffle of six sets of handmade glass blown ornaments crafted by local artisan Tim Tiernan.
Judy and Larry Jones have fundraised for the MWCS music program since 1999.
Tiernan graduated from MWCS in 1972 and has worked in the past with the Jones’ to raise money for the music program. Proceeds are used to cover items not necessarily covered by the department budget.
Mrs. Jones is also a graduate of MWCS and says she finds it rewarding to give back to students to help promote their musical aspirations.
Tickets are $2 each or $5 for three.
Tickets can be purchased from any band or chorus members or visit the high school office. Winners will be drawn at the grade 8-12 winter concert on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. in the MWCS auditorium.
Last year over $500 was raised for the music program.
