A New York business promotion and lobbying group has released its endorsements in political races to be decided on Election Day, and only one of St. Lawrence County’s four current Albany representatives seeking re-election is on the list.
Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush, Republican from Black Lake and current 122nd District representative, will be running in the new 117th District, and has the endorsement of Unshackle Upstate (www.unshackleupstate.com) in the contest to be decided on Nov. 6.
They are also endorsing the Republican incumbent Janet Duprey, in new Assembly District 115, which will include the St. Lawrence County townships of Brasher, Hopkinton, Lawrence, and Piercefield.
Brian Sampson, executive director of Unshackle Upstate, said he believes that the legislative candidates receiving the endorsements will “help unlock New York’s true economic potential,” according to Wednesday’s announcement.
In addition to the endorsements, Sampson said that Unshackle Upstate will use “an aggressive mix of paid advertising and social media to support a number of candidates in the weeks leading up to Election Day,” the statement read.
