David Forsythe, running as a Republican for the 118th Assembly District seat, called the budget measures approved by both state legislative bodies "a bad budget for the hardworking families and taxpayers of New York."

Forsythe, of Lisbon, said, "Bad enough the state budget is almost 90 days late, but today the Assembly and Senate Democrats have compounded the problem.

"This budget is full of tax increases and overspending that we simply cannot afford," Forsythe said.

Referring to the Democrat who currently holds the Assembly seat Forsythe seeks, he said "Ms. Russell and her Albany cronies have once again shown how they are out of touch with the people of this state. As any business owner or hardworking family knows, you cannot spend money you don’t have. Albany has ignored this simple principle and further jeopardized the future of this great state.”

Forsythe, a small business owner and St. Lawrence County Legislator, is endorsed by the Republican and Conservative parties in the Assembly contest.

The 118th Assembly District includes parts of Jefferson and St Lawrence Counties.
