LISBON -- A Lisbon woman has been charged with passing more than $5,000 in bad checks throughout Ogdensburg.
Arresting county deputies said that Melissa R. Gordon, 31, of 5713 St. Rt. 68, stole nearly 40 personal checks over the course of three months from a man she had been living with a male at the Rt. 68 address.
She allegedly wrote out the checks, signed them, and gave them to friends to cash for her.
Gordon was arraigned in Town of Hermon Court, and was sent to the county jail without bail.
The investigation continues and further charges are pending, according to the Sheriff's Office.
