Amber M. Mace, 35, 72 Jones Rd., is charged with third-degree welfare fraud and two counts of first-degree ofering a false instrument for filing.
The St. Lawrence County Social Services Investigations Unit alleges that Mace submitted false applications for child care services recertification that resulted in her receiving $18,293.45 between April 1, 2009 and Aug. 14, 2011.
She was arraigned before Lisbon Town Justice Philip Fonda Sunday and was released to the supervision of probation authorities. She is to appear later in Canton Town Court.
