Lisbon woman charged with DWI after crossing into wrong lane in Potsdam, police say
POTSDAM -- A Lisbon woman was charged Sunday morning with driving while intoxicated after crossing into the wrong lane of traffic on Sandstone Drive, according to Potsdam police.
Rita M. Millage, 64, was charged at 1:15 a.m. with first-offense DWI, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, driving across hazardous markings and improper right turn, police said.Millage was observed crossing the white hazard marking on Market Street and then crossed into the wrong lane of traffic on Sandstone Drive, police said.
A traffic stop was initiated on Pine Street where she was found to have a plastic cup with alcohol in plain sight, police said.
Millage was asked to complete a series of field sobriety tests, which she failed, officers said.
Her blood-alcohol content (BAC) was .12 percent, police said.
She was cited and released.
