LISBON -- The Lisbon varsity softball team was awarded a newly implemented Sportsmanship Award in Renee Robinson's name at the recent Section X Awards ceremony.
Renee parents and brother were there to present it.
The team will have a banner hung in the gym with the name and year of the award.
The Renee Robinson Sportsmanship Award is presented to a team of athletes that represent the same qualities that Renee embodied--a team that Renee would be proud to call her own. To qualify, a team must be nominated by a Section X softball coach following the completion of the regular season and then must receive a majority vote from the award committee.
Renee Robinson was a longtime coach at Lisbon Central School District who passed away unexpectedly earlier this year.
