LISBON – A Lisbon man was arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated following a property-damage accident Monday evening on the Pray Road, according to state police.

Travis S. Cota, 32, was charged with aggravated DWI, texting while driving, failure to keep right, no hands on a steering wheel and failure to notify DMV of a change of address, troopers said.

Cota was reportedly operating a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier around 10 p.m. when he lost control of the car and it exited the North shoulder of the road and struck an embankment.

A blood test revealed a blood-alcohol-content (BAC) of .20 percent, troopers said.

A BAC level of .18 percent of higher raises a DWI charge to aggravated, officers said.

Cota was reportedly uninjured.

He is to appear in Lisbon Town Court May 6 at 7 p.m. to answer the charges.
