LISBON -- State police say that their investigation of an animal abuse complaint on Monday revealed that a Lisbon man had beaten a puppy to death.
The puppy was treated but succumbed to the injuries.
Frank R. Cushing, 31, Ogdensburg, with cruelty to animals based on an animal complaint at 410 Cedar St.
Troopers said Cushing struck an eight week old pit bull puppy in the head repeatedly after it had defecated on his floor.
The animal was treated at Canton Animal Clinic where it died.
Cushing was issued an appearance ticket for Lisbon Court on Nov. 22.
