LISBON – A Lisbon house was declared a total loss after a faulty stove started a fire early today.
The house, at 241 Dandy Road, was owned by Andrew Dawson and occupied by two people. Dawson reportedly has insurance on the house.
Lisbon fire and rescue volunteers were called out at 4:21 this morning, and they were joined by the Morley Fire Department. Also on the scene were firefighters from the Canton, Madrid and Rensselaer Falls companies. West Potsdam stood by at Morley.
The Lisbon chief said the cause of the blaze was a faulty stove.
No one was reported hurt. The Lisbon department was back in service at 7:08 a.m. today.
