MADRID -- Camryn Chester of Lisbon was crowned the 53rd St. Lawrence County Dairy Princess April 30 at the pageant at the Madrid Community Building, sponsored by St. Lawrence County Dairy Promotion.
Knowledge of dairy products and practices were tested with an interview, a speech, and impromptu answers to questions.
Chosen Princess Alternates were Maureen Pierce of Heuvelton and Emily teRiele of Canton.
Also selected were Ambassadors Josh Godbout of Lisbon, Kaylin Gotham of Hermon, Leeann Gotham of Hermon, and Dairy Promoter Kaitlyn Putnam of Lisbon.
They all will spend the next year making public appearances educating folks of all ages about the nutritional benefits of dairy consumption, while answering questions about dairy farming.
The outgoing court of 2016-17 made a total of 79 event appearances to represent the importance of agriculture in St. Lawrence County.
