LISBON -- Lisbon Central School recently held a school-wide penny drive to raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to find cures for blood cancer. Lisbon staff and students raised a total of $780.25.
The drive yielded 201 dollars, 3 half-dollars, 1,051 quarters, 1,633 dimes, 1,141 nickels and 9,465 pennies.
The top three fundraising classrooms will get a pizza party as a reward. In third place with $52.87 is Mrs. McNally's class. In second place with $86.04 is Mrs. Sprigg's class. First place with $135.82 is Mrs. Sherman's class.
