Lisbon Central School announces nine students who will graduate with honors

LISBON -- Nine Lisbon Central Students will graduate with honors Friday.

Each of these students have earned a cumulative grade point average of 90 or higher and will be recognized at graduation this year. Students in this group have taken challenging high school courses, and some have earned college credit through SUNY Canton, Paul Smith’s College, and/or North Country Community College.

Katie Addison, daughter of Ron Addison & Nancy Addison, has earned the highest GPA at Lisbon in the Class of 2015 with a 94.80. Katie will attend SUNY Plattsburgh to pursue a degree in medical technology. Katie attended the Allied Health program this year at Northwest Technical Center and she earned college credit for the sciences through Paul Smith’s College.

Mikayla Deruchia, daughter of Jeff Deruchia & Nicole Deruchia, is ranked second in the class with a 93.42 GPA. Mikayla has enrolled at The Culinary Institute of America for fall 2015 in the Baking and Pastry Arts major with a concentration in Culinary Sciences.

Donald Duprey, son of Michael & Joanne Duprey, is ranked third in the honors group with a cumulative average of 92.78. Donnie plans to pursue a civil engineering degree this fall at Clarkson University. Donnie has earned college credit through his attendance at The Clarkson School this year where he combined his senior year and freshman year of college.

Alexandria Amo, daughter of Michael & Tammy Amo, has earned a GPA of 91.84 over her four years at Lisbon. Alex will attend North Country Community College this fall pursuing a major in entrepreneurship management.

Tristan Vine, son of William & Brigid Vine, has earned a place in the honors group with a cumulative GPA of 90.77. Tristan will pursue a pre-physician assistant program at Clarkson University in the fall. Tristan also participated in the Allied Health program at Northwest Technical Center.

Makayla Cruikshank, daughter of Brian & Janelle Cruikshank, is a member of the honors group, having earned a 90.56 GPA. Makayla has enrolled at St. Lawrence University in a pre-med program for the fall 2015. She was a student in the Allied Health program at Northwest Technical Center this past year, and she completed the Pharmacy Technology program there as a junior.

Ashley Livingston, daughter of Jay & Janet Livingston, is ranked within the honors group with a cumulative GPA of 90.08. Ashley will attend SUNY Canton this fall to pursue a degree in civil and environmental engineering technology.

Hunter Crary, son of William Crary & Kelly Pircsuk, has earned a place in the honors group with an overall GPA of 93.16. Hunter is graduating a year early, having earned all of his required high school credits and college credit from Canton College in three years. He will attend Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire in the fall for a program in history and political science.

TaShauna Schofell, daughter of Tammy Schofell, has earned honors group status with an average of 90.58. She is also graduating a year early after completing high school in three years. TaShauna is enrolled at McDaniel College in Maryland majoring in political science with a specialization in international relations for fall 2015.
