LISBON -- Lights On the River is adding the Ogdensburg branch of the Salvation Army to the list of food pantries that will benefit from this year’s event.
Lights On The River is a non-profit in its sixth year of raising money for food pantries. In December, businesses, groups and people fill the Lisbon Campground with lighted displays.
While entrance to the event is free, non-perishable food items and money donations are accepted, with all proceeds divided among local food pantries.
Other pantries the event will help include Canton Church and Community Program, Canton, Gouverneur, Hammond, Massena, Ogdensburg and Potsdam neighborhood centers, Heuvelton Lisbon and Richville food pantries, Norwood-Norfolk-Raymondville Outreach and Waddington Family and Resource Center.
The event will run from December 12 to 22 from 5 to 9 p.m. each evening.
Anyone can participate and set up a Christmas themed display at no charge, or make a monetary contribution by contacting info@lightsontheriver.org or calling Scott Wilhelm at 854-2657.
