LISBON -- Lisbon Central School psychologist Elizabeth Hafer recently presented at the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) annual conference at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas..
Hafer presented, along with Massena Central School psychologist Megan Castell, on “Effective Strategies for Reaching and Teaching Unmotivated Students,” based on the work of Dr. Allen N Mendler. The conference had over 4,000 attendees.
“Lack of student motivation is becoming an epidemic in our schools. Teacher frustration is at an all-time high, yet help is readily available. We discussed and developed effective strategies for reaching and teaching unmotivated students in our schools. Practitioners discussed real-world experiences and challenges in working with unmotivated students," Hafner said in a news release.
