Legislature passes bill to rename stretch of Rt. 812 near Ogdensburg after late trooper

Legislation approved in the state Assembly will dedicate and officially name a stretch of State Route 812 in Ogdensburg “Trooper Shawn W. Snow Street.”

Trooper Snow was born March 19, 1961. He graduated from Hermon-DeKalb High School then served in the Navy from 1979 to 1985, and then in the Coast Guard from 1985 to 1989. Next he attended the New York State Police Academy and upon graduation served with Troops A and K before returning to the North Country in 1990 to serve with Troop B in St. Lawrence County. He is survived by his wife and children.

The bill has already passed the Senate and will be sent to the governor for final approval.
