Leaves are around peak color in the northern areas of St. Lawrence County and past peak in higher elevations in the south, according to the iloveny.org Fall Foliage Report.
"Expect nearly 100 percent color change this weekend with red, yellow, orange, purple and green leaves of dull to average brilliance," the website says.
In the higher elevations, "Foliage is past peak ... with 90-95 percent color transition, leaves are fading and a bronze, copper and ginger haze predominates the landscape with the sporadic hues of canary, maize, pumpkin, and mimosa."
Leaf drop is moderate in the northerns parts of the county, according to The Foliage Network, and heavier where peak has passed in the southern reaches.
