PARISHVILLE -- The Parishville Area Recreation Club (PARC) and the Town of Parishville are hosting Learn to Skate sessions Saturdays in January at the town park ice arena.
Hours are noon to 2 p.m. for novice skaters, and 1 to 2 p.m. for intermediate skaters. The arena is reserved for Learn To Skate participants at these times.
All are welcome. Pre-registration is not required. Attend one or more sessions. A $3 per session donation accepted at skate time. Many sizes of skates are available for a session at no charge.
Novice instruction is led by Margaux Godin, who uses a variety of games and fun to encourage skaters to practice their new skills. Skaters will gain confidence with improved balance, stopping and gliding techniques.
Intermediate instruction is led by Ciera Montroy. Skaters take it up a notch with quicker moves, faster action and a little competitive fun. Learn to skate backwards, make sharper turns and quicker stops.
