POTSDAM -- People wanting information on registering children for kindergarten classes that start in September can get it in the auditeria at Lawrence Avenue Elementary School at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5.
To be eligible for kindergarten classes in September, a child must be five years old on or before Dec. 1, 2015 and be a resident of the Potsdam Central School District.
When registering on March 5, new families (those currently not enrolled in the universal pre-kindergarten program) are asked to bring their children’s original state-issued birth certificate, proof of residency and a written record of immunizations.
New York State law requires immunization against DPT, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis b, and varicella.
Children do not have to accompany their parents on the registration night.
If you have a child eligible for kindergarten but cannot attend the presentation, you may contact the Lawrence Avenue main office at 265-2000, ext. 248.
