LAWRENCE -- An electrical fire destroyed a home located at 428 Route 51, Wednesday at 12:33 p.m.
Doug Thomas, who owns the property, was in the home when the blaze began, but was able to get out safely.
Nicholville, Brasher-Winthorp, Hopkinton, North Lawrence and Parishville firefighters were at the scene for nearly 7 hours, but were unable to save the home.
Potsdam, Colton and West Stockholm fire departments were on stand by.
Departments from Dickinson Center and St Regis Falls also responded.
Despite the long battle, firefighters say no one was injured at the scene.
The home was insured.
