POTSDAM – Protected by a tent, a couple of sleeping bags—and his trusty stuffed animals—Lawrence Avenue Elementary Principal Larry Jenne spent a chilly night on the school roof Monday night.
Jenne was following through on a promise he made to students during a recent magazine sale fundraiser for the school’s Character Education program. He told the students if they met their goal, he would sleep on the roof.
According to school officials, the students fell just short of the goal, but Jenne decided to keep his end of the deal to teach students a memorable lesson about keeping promises.
