The Laurentian Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club has announced the winners of their Third Annual Photo Contest at their annual meeting Nov. 6.
Award winners were: Action, "Misty Lake Kayaker," by Toni Towle, Lyndhurst, Ontario; ADK Service, "Tom Ortmeyer on Stone Valley Trail Crew," taken by John Barron, Ottawa, Ontario; People, “Charleston Lake June 2011,” Toni Towle; and Scenic, “Algonquin Summit,” taken by Mike McLean, Colton.
The judges awarded honorable mention recognition to photographs taken by Sylvia Haq of Canton, Richard Ladue and Brian Baston of Massena, John Omohundro of Hannawa Falls, Toni Towle, John Barron, and Mike McLean.
The photo contest attracted over 150 entries from chapter members and others participating in chapter outings.
Contest judges were Dick Mooers, Potsdam; Jim Bullard, West Stockholm; and Blair Madore, Potsdam.
ADK Laurentian Chapter photo contest scenic category prize went to Mike McLean’s shot of the summit of Algonquin Mountain.
