PARISHVILLE -- A new memorial scholarship has been created from the proceeds of a jamboree to benefit the family of a Parishville woman who died of Lou Gerhig's Disease recently.
Amanda Lynn LaShomb died May 18 due to complications from the illness. She was a student at SUNY Canton.
In June, a jamboree was held at the Parishville Fire Hall to benefit her family and help offset medical costs.
Organizers say the event raised enough money to cover expenses as well as establish a new scholarship in LaShomb's name. known as the "Amanda's Butterfly Wishes."
