Lake effect snow warning issued until 10 p.m., up to six inches expected in St. Lawrence County

A lake effect snow warning has been issued for parts of St. Lawrence County including Potsdam, Ogdensburg and Gouverneur until 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

A total of 4 to 6 inches of snow may fall with a maximum  rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour expected at the peak.

This Afternoon: Snow showers likely, mainly before 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 23. Southwest wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Tonight: Scattered snow showers, mainly before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 9. South wind around 5 mph becoming light and variable in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Sunday: A 50 percent chance of snow showers, mainly after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 27. Light and variable wind. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
