NORWOOD -- Norwood Kiwanis Club has named Joe Swan its Kiwanian of the Year.
The Kiwanis Club of Norwood recently recognized Swan as their club’s Kiwanian of the Year. The award recipient is decided upon by the president and is awarded to someone who has stood out in the club and who embodies the purpose of Kiwanis: serving the children of the world.
Swan has been a very active member of Kiwanis for decades. Since joining, he has held numerous leadership positions, played a lead role in starting new clubs in the North Country, volunteered countless hours to support local youth, and has been a passionate and dedicated citizen working to improve the quality of life for others in the Norwood region.
The club also gave out its president awards.
Alex Allen, now past-president, presented Gabby Martineau, Bess & Will Kirnie and Joan Eurto with President’s Awards. The awards were presented not just for their dedication to Kiwanis, but for their continuous support during the Alex’s term as president.
