CANTON -- Job Corps, administered by the U.S. Department of Labor, offers free career training for 16- to 24-year-olds in St. Lawrence County in auto mechanics, auto body repair, medical and business office practices, certified nursing assistant, licensed practical nurse, construction, culinary arts, security guard and more.
The program includes up to two years education and training, campus housing, meals and many other services. There is no cost to eligible students.
High school graduates and non-graduates may apply. If needed, a student can also get a GED or high school diploma at the same time they train for a career at Job Corps.
Orientation and interviews will be held on Friday, July 15 at 10 a.m. at the St. Lawrence One Stop Career Center, 80 St. Hwy. 310, Suite 8, Canton.
