Is it spring or winter? Rain, thunderstorms, high winds, temperatures above freezing for next 24 hours

Expect rain today and tonight and maybe some thunderstorms and high winds tonight.

Temperatures are rising into the 30s and 40s today and rain is expected to start this afternoon as the unusual winter weather in the North Country continues.

If the current National Weather Service forecast holds, showers will continue tonight and possibly into tomorrow, but warmer temperatures will keep it all from locking up into sheets of ice.

Temperatures tonight will stay in the 30s, and there is the chance of a thunderstorm while the winds pick up to 14 o 18 mph with gusts as high as 30.

Gusty winds continue tomorrow, and rain could continue until about mid-day with highs of about 35. Snow showers could take over in the afternoon, but accumulations, if any, probably won't top half an inch.

Tomorrow night, temps will drop to the mid-teens, and snow showers could continue

Wednesday is expected to be cooler, in the 20s, but highs Thursday, Friday and Saturday are expected to climb again back into the 30s.

Thursday through Saturday, the chance of snow showers remains, but only at about 30 percent.

As usual, temperatures in the southern parts of the county, where land elevations rise, could be several degrees cooler.
