Despite weak high pressure across St. Lawrence County today and Friday, increases in humidity and temperatures will result in isolated thunderstorms this afternoon, and scattered showers and thunderstorms on Friday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Skies will be partly sunny and high temperatures will reach the lower 80s in most Locations today and Friday, NWS says.
Overnight lows tonight will be around 62 and 64 on Friday night, the service says.
A more vigorous upper level trough and associated surface low will bring more widespread cloud cover and greater coverage of showers and embedded thunderstorms during the day on Saturday, NWS says.
The forecast through the middle of next week is as follows:
Friday
A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 82. Southwest wind 6 to 9 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Friday Night
A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. South wind 6 to 9 mph. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Saturday
Showers likely, mainly after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. Southwest wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Saturday Night
A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. Southwest wind around 6 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
