LOUISVILLE -- The cause of a fire yesterday that completely destroyed a house and car in Louisville and resulted in injury to one firefighter is undetermined this morning.
Louisville volunteers responded at 3:55 p.m. to 5472 County Rt. 14 occupied by Joanne Yerdon and eight others, all of whom are having to seek other accommodations. None of them was hurt, but one firefighter was hurt, according to investigators.
The house has been declared a total loss. The origin of the fire is undetermined so far.
Also at the scene were the Massena Rescue Squad and firefighters from Madrid, Waddington, Norfolk, and Seaway Valley departments. Morley and Lisbon were on standby.
The house was owned by Lloyd Seguin. There is insurance.
