MASSENA -- State police investigators say they believe a woman found unconscious on the side of a Norfolk road on Saturday night was the primary aggressor in a possible domestic incident, but they aren’t certain if they will be able to make an arrest.

Police said Loretta L. Martin, 41, of 2 Willow St., Massena was found unresponsive with injuries and bleeding to her head and face. Police discovered her outside a vehicle, which they took to search for evidence. It didn’t appear to be damaged, according to officers.

“She was the aggressor,” Investigator Dewayne Baillargeon said. “All the details aren’t in yet.”

Baillargeon would not comment further, citing an ongoing investigation.

Martin was taken to Fletcher Allen Healthcare in Burlington, Vt. with what police said were non-life-threatening injuries.
