CANTON – An inmate at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility has been arrested for allegedly hitting a corrections officer on Nov. 8.

Bruce A. French, 38, Norwood, currently of the county jail, was charged with felony second-degree assault for assaulting the corrections officer, and a misdemeanor count of possession of contraband.

He was arraigned in Canton Village Court by Judge Galvin and remanded to the correctional facility without bail.
