OSWEGATCHIE – An Ogdensburg man is accused of crashing his vehicle after he was allegedly driving drunk and texting on the Lovejoy Road Tuesday.
Andrew D. Ladouceur, 24, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, and operating a motor vehicle while using a portable electronic device.
Troopers say Ladouceur was traveling west in a 1997 Chevrolet when his vehicle exited the south shoulder of the road and struck an earth embankment. Ladouceur told troopers he was texting while driving when he ran off the road and crashed.
Troopers said Ladouceur declined medical treatment and was arrested for driving while intoxicated. His blood alcohol content was determined to be .21 percent, more than double the legal limit.
He is to appear at the Town of Oswegatchie Court on April 16, 2014 at 5 p.m.
