CANTON – An Indiana man accused of the theft of $21,000 worth of golf carts from a Canton vendor was arraigned in St. Lawrence County Wednesday and released on his own recognizance.
St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies say a warrant was obtained early in September for Chad A. Leiby, 46, from Canton Town Justice James Monroe. He was arrested by authorities in Indiana and held for extradition.
The theft occurred from Mid-State Golf Cars, 5984 County Rt. 27, Canton.
Leiby is in trouble with his partners in GRC Golf Carts of Elkhart and is being sued by them.
