In the 118th Assembly District, incumbent Marc Butler of Newport in Herkimer County won by a commanding margin Tuesday against fellow Republican Patrick Vincent, a businessman from Cold Brook, also in Herkimer County.
The district includes the St. Lawrence County towns of Clare, Clifton, Colton, Fine, Madrid, Norfolk, Parishville, Pierrepont and Stockholm. The district also includes all of Hamilton and Fulton counties and portions of Oneida and Herkimer counties.
Butler received 4,656 votes, compared to 2,530 for Vincent, with all of St. Lawrence County’s 16 election precincts in the 118th district reporting, as well as all precincts in Oneida, Fulton and Herkimer counties. The total does not includes votes cast in tiny Hamilton County.
The results are unofficial and do not include absentee ballots.
