NORWOOD -- If you are not a registered voter in St. Lawrence County, and you want to vote in the Norwood Library special election Nov. 15, you must get your registration form to the county Board of Elections by Oct. 21.
Registration forms are available at the Norwood Library, 1 Morton St.
Absentee ballots, which must be returned by Nov. 1, are also available at the library.
The special election on creation of the library district, selection of trustees, and approval of the library's budget is set for Nov. 15, a week after the general election.
Voting will take place from noon to 9 p.m. at the Norwood American Legion, 10 Maple St.
Potsdam and Stockholm town residents who also live in the Norwood-Norfolk School District are eligible to vote.
The Friends of the Library say that the new district will assure that there are no service area overlaps and that funding will only be collected from taxpayers who are not paying taxes for a neighborhood library.
