Ice Storm 2013 cost the St. Lawrence County Highway Department at least $85,000 according to a resolution that went before the finance committee Monday.
Appropriations for gas, winter maintenance, highway and street equipment, and fuel purchases totaled $85,000 over the roughly one-week storm.
The committee recommended the money be transferred from the winter maintenance account to the above mentioned budget lines.
The icy weather damaged many properties throughout the county, and caused a travel ban to be issued by the Department of Emergency Services.
It also knocked out power for more than 4,300 National Grid customers in St. Lawrence County.
The proposed transfer will go before the full board of legislators Feb. 10.
