Hyde-Stone Mechanical of Potsdam establishes charitable foundation with Northern New York Community Foundation

POTSDAM -- Hyde-Stone Mechanical Contractors, with an office in Potsdam, has established a charitable foundation within the Northern New York Community Foundation with an initial $100,000 gift.

The company dates back to 1893 and is currently led by Jay and Dawn Stone and two of their sons, Christopher Stone and Thom Stone.

"This partnership with a company and family that has such a long-standing history in the North Country means so much to us. We are honored to be asked to help maximize their ongoing commitment to being a good corporate citizen," said Rande Richardson, Community Foundation executive director. "The good that Hyde-Stone continues to do will now become more prominent and structured to reflect the family┬╣s values and interests over the long-term," he said.

"Our family and this company have always understood our role to reinvest in the communities that have contributed so much to our success. We see this as a more thoughtful and impactful way to make sure our charitable work in the North Country is responsibly managed," the Stone family said.
