Hundreds to graduate from St. Lawrence County schools districts June 22-25

Hundreds of St. Lawrence County students will receive diplomas next weekend with commencement ceremonies planned many schools in St. Lawrence County.

The dates, time and location of the graduation ceremonies follow:

Potsdam Central

Potsdam Central School will graduate 70 students on Friday, June 23, at 7 p.m. in Hosmer Hall at SUNY Potsdam. Jason Jemison was named the valedictorian for 2017 and Garrett Mattimore was named salutatorian. Emma Kroll is the class president. The commencement speaker is Jodie Tiernan and Superintendent Joanna Chambers will also speak.

Massena

Massena Central seniors will graduate on June 24 at 1 p.m. in Massena Arena. Their class leaders are valedictorian Ashna Gupta and salutatorian Abigail Elman.

Ogdensburg

Ogdensburg Free Academy’s graduation ceremony will be held at noon June 24. Class leaders include valedictorian Maggie Peo and salutatorian Hayley Snodgrass.

Hugh C. Williams High School, Canton

Over 100 members of the Class of 2017 will walk to the stage in Appleton Arena June 23 to pick up their high school diplomas. The ceremony begins at 7 p.m. The school’s Academic Top Ten students this year are Emma Bentley-Hicks, Mary Chisholm, Meghan Conklin, Eric Gagliardi, Sarahanne Jackson, Jayden Ladison, Emma Rosser, Katja Schmid-Doyle, Olivia Schreurs, and Brittany Wilcox. The graduation speakers have yet to be announced.

Gouverneur

Gouverneur’s graduation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 23. The ceremony will be outside the school, depending on weather. Rain location is the school auditorium.

Norwood-Norfolk Central

Norwood-Norfolk Central School will graduate over 60 seniors Saturday, June 24 at 7 p.m. at SUNY Potsdam’s Hosmer Hall. The guest speaker will be English teacher Rachel Cook. Amber Stickney of Norwood has been named the valedictorian and Kyle Fulk of Norwood is the salutatorian for the Class of 2017.

Lisbon

Lisbon Central School graduation will be held at 6:30 p.m. June 23 in the school auditorium. Class leaders include Margaret Crowley, Railey Burwell, Cheali Kench, Larraine Hollis, Dana Olmstead, Koby Jordan, Hannah Beebie, Anna Robinson and Kane Jordan.

Morristown

Morristown Central School class of 2017 commencement will be held Saturday, June 24 at 7 p.m. in the school’s gym. Class leaders include valedictorian Haley Witmarsh and salutatorian Adriana Fanelli.

Brasher Falls

Brasher Falls Central School District’s St. Lawrence Central High School graduation will be held Friday, June 23, at 6 p.m. on the school’s front lawn. Their valedictorian is Leanne Gardner and salutatorian is Madeline Derouchie.

Madrid-Waddington

Madrid-Waddington graduation will be June 23 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Their class leaders are Josh Barkley, Emily Cafarella, Carlie Stoner, Hannah Mott, Kelsey Thisse, Nathaniel Plumley and Marlaina Bush.

Heuvelton

Heuvelton Central School commencement will be held Friday June 23 at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium.

Hammond

The academic leaders for the class of 2017 at Hammond Central School are Taylor Hutton, valedictorian, and Taylor Bertram, salutatorian. Hammond graduation ceremonies will be held Sunday, June 25, at 2 p.m. at the high school auditorium.

Parishville-Hopkinton Central

Parishville-Hopkinton’s Class of 2017 will line up to receive their diplomas at the graduation ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 24 in the auditorium.

The senior class of about 30 students were led academically by valedictorian Hannah Hannon and salutatorian Hannah Grey. Class president is Lucas Snell. The commencement speaker is Krista Hurley.

Colton-Pierrepont

Colton-Pierrepont Central School seniors will receive their diplomas on June 23 at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. Class leaders valedictorian Mara Vaccaro and salutatorian Sage Richards will be among the speakers at the ceremony. Featured speaker will be Gavin Thomas, class of 2002. He is co-founder of the organization This Good World, offering an app that allows users to quickly search for good businesses at home and on the road, providing them an opportunity to spend their money in good conscience.

Brasher Falls

Brasher Falls Central School District’s St. Lawrence Central High School graduation will be held Friday, June 23, at 6 p.m. on the school’s front lawn.

Madrid-Waddington

Madrid-Waddington graduation will be June 23 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Their class leaders are Josh Barkley, Emily Cafarella, Carlie Stoner, Hannah Mott, Kelsey Thisse, Nathaniel Plumley and Marlaina Bush.

Hermon-DeKalb

The Hermon-DeKalb graduation is scheduled for Friday, June 23, at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Class leaders of Hermon-DeKalb’s 2017 class are Ryan Morrill, valedictorian, and Selena Wright, salutatorian.

Edwards-Knox

Edwards-Knox Central will award diplomas to several dozen students on Saturday, June 24 at 11 a.m. in the school gym. Their class leaders are Alaina White and Cheyanna Tuttle.

Harrisville Central

Harrisville Central graduation ceremonies will be held Friday, June 23, at 6 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Class leaders are Roderick Parow, valedictorian; Elizabeth Jackson-Wood, salutatorian; and Faith Scarborough, top vocational student.

Clifton-Fine Central

Class of 2017 at Clifton Fine will hold a commencement ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, in the school auditorium. Class leaders are William Sealander, valedictorian, and Rebecca Mathews, salutatorian.
