PITCAIRN -- Harrisville firefighters were joined by volunteers from fire departments in Fine, Edwards, Gouverneur and Star Lake, but they could not save the house at 106 County Rt. 26 this afternoon.
Also lost in the fire were three family dogs, investigators said.
St. Lawrence County fire investigators report that the house, owned by Gary Russell and occupied by Christin Denton and one other, was a total loss. They said there was no insurance to cover the loss.
Investigators said the cause of the blaze was an electrical malfunction.
Firefighters were called out at 1:18 p.m. The Harrisville volunteers reported being back in service at 4:37 p.m.
Also on the scene was Gouverneur Rescue. No injuries were reported.
