Hot, muggy conditions to continue through much of next week in North Country, daily showers or thunderstomers expected

Tropical moisture will continue to produce daily showers and thunderstorms in the North Country through early next week, according to the National Weather Service.

The humid conditions and high temperatures, well into the 80’s, will also continue, the service said.

A break in the heat and humidity “may” occur toward the end of next week, the service said.

Heavy rain is on tap for tonight, followed by a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms Saturday, according to the service.

• Tonight: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 11pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Patchy fog after midnight. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. Southwest wind 6 to 9 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

• Saturday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 1pm and 5pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. Southwest wind 8 to 13 mph.

• Saturday Night: A slight chance of showers between 3am and 4am. Patchy fog after midnight. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 64. Southwest wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

• Sunday: A chance of showers between 9am and noon, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 81. Southwest wind 7 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

• Sunday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. Southwest wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

• Monday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Cloudy, with a high near 81. Southwest wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

• Monday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a low around 63. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

• Tuesday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. West wind 3 to 8 mph.
