HOPKINTON — Hopkinton Town Board members will travel Oct. 28 to view the Maple Ridge Wind Project in Lowville, which is owned and operated by Avangrid, the company that has proposed about 40 wind turbines in Parishville and Hopkinton.
The planned departure will be at 8 a.m. from the Hopkinton Town Office and the expected arrival at 6972 Eagle Factory Road (off of Route 177) is 10 a.m.
The contact person for this visit is Bill Bourne at (315) 286-9002
Those wishing to attend should meet at the Hopkinton Town Office Parking Lot 5 or 10 minutes before 8 a.m.
There will be time for questions.
In late September four members of the town board visited the Jericho Rise Wind Farm in Belmont and town supervisor Susan Wood said she had “even more reservations” about the wind farm following the visit. The wind farm in Belmont is not operated by Avangrid.
Avangrid plans to build about 40 500-foot towers locally.
