HOPKINTON -- A Hopkinton man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly received $13,413 in unemployment benefits that he was not entitled to, according to state police.
Troopers said they charged Dean M. Lamphere, Jr., 45 with third-degree grand larceny and first-degree offering a false instrument for filing.
The charges stem from an investigation by the New York State Department of Labor regarding Lamphere receiving unemployment benefits he was not entitled to over a two-year period.
He was arraigned by Hopkinton Town Justice David Beekman and released under supervision of the county Probation Department, with orders to reappear Nov. 4 at 7 p.m.
