AKWESASNE -- A Hogansburg man was jailed after he was caught with 22 pounds of marijuana, according to New York State Police.
Brian A. Lazore Jr., 36, was charged with first-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class C felony.
Troopers said the United States Border Patrol conducted a security checkpoint on Route 11 Saturday, when Lazore pulled up in a red Honda Accord.
At the check point Lazore was found to be in possession of 22 pounds of marijuana.
He sent to Jefferson County jail on $15,000 cash bail.
