MASSENA -- A Hogansburg man was jailed without bail on felony counts of driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation following a traffic stop March 1, according to state police.
Troopers said they stopped Kenneth T. Cole, 64, who was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer, on Parker Avenue around 6:20 p.m., and discovered that his driving privileges were revoked due to a previous DWI.
Officers said they charged Cole at 7 p.m. with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation: due to alcohol, felony DWI: 3 prior convictions in last 15 years; circumvent interlock: operate vehicle without device and second-degree obstructing a governmental administration.
He reportedly refused to provide a breath sample to determine his blood-alcohol content and also refused to allow troopers to take his fingerprints and mug shot.
He was also charged with an equipment safety violation: safety glass; failure to keep right, right of way violations, illegal signal: less than 100 feet and refusal to take a breath test, officers said.
Cole was arraigned in Massena court and remanded to St. Lawrence County Jail without bail, troopers said.
He is to reappear in court March 3 at 1:30 p.m., officers said.
