COLTON -- The final event in the Higley Snowshoe Trail Series, sponsored by Colton Town Recreation was held Saturday at Higley Flow State Park.
With adverse snow conditions, two of the events, which spanned the months of December to March were trail run/ walks and two were snowshoe events. Runners and walkers who completed three of the four events received a t-shirt. Winners in male/female age categories of over 40 and under 40 received plaques.
Receiving shirts in the walking category were Kasey and Jeff Smith and Karen Wright.
Course design and trail preparation were provided by experienced snowshoe competitor Wayne Ratowski who spent many hours ensuring the course was safe, challenging and accurate.
The next event at the Park sponsored by Colton Town Recreation will be the Colton Country Classic Duathlon on May 13 with a three-mile run, 24-mile bike and one-mile run. The running portion will be held at the Park, and the biking mostly on scenic back roads. Entries may be made on line at trireg.com under either Colton Country Classic Duathlon or Biathlon.
