The National Weather Service predicts those enjoying the tail end of Independence Day weekend in St. Lawrence County should enjoy fair weather through Monday.

Temperatures are forecast to peak at 80 today in Canton and Massena and dip to 57 degrees at night in Gouverneur and Potsdam. Mountainous areas including Star Lake may see their thermometers read several degrees cooler, the NWS predicts.

Tomorrow should be breezy, the NWS forecasts, with high temperatures forecast once again in Canton and Massena at 82 degrees and a few degrees lower in the mountains.

Meteorologists predict rain to hit around 1 a.m. Monday in Canton, Ogdensburg and Gouverneur.

The NWS predicts a 60 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms for all areas on St. Lawrence County on Monday starting around 2 p.m.
