MASSENA -- James Hidy, candidate for Massena Village Mayor, says he will pursue a spot on the Republican Party ballot line in this November’s election.

“Massena and its citizens are being met with challenging times and we need aggressive leadership with business backgrounds and vision to take a more positive approach for securing high paying jobs to the area,” Hidy said. He said he believes his professional experience can be a big plus in the Mayor’s Office.

After meeting with officials from both major parties, Hidy said his choice became obvious. He said he wants Republicans to officially make him their candidate at the party’s caucus later this summer.

Hidy’s choice of the Republican Party was inspired, he said, by the direction Supervisor Joe Gray is pursuing for the Town of Massena.

“It’s become more obvious Mr. Gray shares the same vision as I in moving this community to reinvent itself,” said Hidy. “The people of Massena are seeking change to the “business as usual attitude” of too many of our elected officials. There seems to be the lack of a pro-active approach to revitalization. The people of Massena are thirsting for change and I know I can bring that if I am elected.”
