HEUVELTON – The Heuvelton Central School marching band may soon have a new look and some shiny new instruments.
According to Pepsi’s Refresh grant website, the band finished as a fourth-place finalist with its submitted proposal for $25,000 in funding toward new uniforms and instruments. The August competition ended at midnight Aug. 31.
The band needed to secure a spot in the top ten to earn the grant.
However, Pepsi will take a little longer to formally announce the winners, according to the website.
“Right now we’re checking these ideas to make sure they qualify to receive grants,” the site states. “Check back on Sept. 22 when we announce the Official Grant Recipients.”
