HEUVELTON -- The Heuvelton Central School District recently sent nine district representatives to the 23rd Annual Model Schools Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.

Superintendent Susan Todd, Principals Jesse Coburn and Shannon Jordan along with six teachers attended the four-day conference to learn more about the best emerging practices in education.

The Model Schools Conference is the only conference that highlights the nation’s most rapidly improving schools, according to Todd.

The representatives from Heuvelton Central School were encouraged by the District’s Board of Education to bring back information on effective instructional strategies that transform schools. Participants will be sharing ideas obtained from Keynote Speakers Dr. Bill Daggett and Eric Sheninger from the International Center of Leadership in Education as well as information gleaned from the host of workshops presented by Principal and Teacher Leaders who have transformed their schools.

The Heuvelton CSD administrators and teachers who attended the Model Schools Conference will be presenting this information to the entire faculty and staff on opening Staff Days in September and to the Board of Education at its Sept. 23 meeting at 7 p.m.
