HEUVELTON -- The Heuvelton Lady Bulldogs have received new uniforms purchased with part of a $30,000 state grant.
The team won their first state Class D basketball title in March.
State Sen. Patty Ritchie, R-Heuvelton, delivered the cash for the uniforms last year.
“As an alum on Heuvelton High School, I couldn’t be prouder of the Lady Bulldogs and all they have accomplished,” said Sen. Ritchie. “Not only will these new uniforms help them look sharper on the court, they will also be able to keep the old uniforms they wore during the state title game as a memento of their championship win and a reminder that they have the ability to do great things when they work as a team.”
In addition to the uniforms, the Heuvelton Central athletic department also bought new warm-ups and basketballs for the girls and boys teams, new uniforms for the boys teams, a new scoreboard with backlighting and new cheerleading uniforms, Ritchie said.
